forgiveness

Here are the 3 Rules of Forgiveness from The Christian Counselor’s Manual:

“Forgiveness is a promise…

  1. A promise that you’ll never bring it up to the other person.
  2. A promise that you’ll never bring it up to anyone else.
  3. A promise you’ll never bring it up to yourself.”

How completely “Christian” is the forgiveness you have been granting to others?  To follow with tenacity the above three rules requires a singular focus on one Person, that person is the Christ of your Christianity!  It is not about how sorry or deserving the offender is or isn’t.  It is not about who else knows or does not know.  It is not about how slight or intense the pain you feel.  Ultimately it is about a Jesus who secured the forgiveness of GOD for you and me!

Ephesians 4:32 “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

In the words of Alexander Pope, “To err is human; to forgive, divine.
