It is incredible to see what God is doing right now to grow His local churches all around the world…and our church is no exception! Here is a letter recently sent out to our church family, that I would ask for prayer partnership in as we launch it this coming Sunday, August 28:
Dear Family and Friends of North Life Baptist Church,
I am grateful to report that, by God’s grace, our church is thriving and growing in 2022 at pace that can only be the Lord’s doing. We are seeing record numbers in our attendance, offerings, visitors, and small group participation. Most of all we give the Lord all the glory for the sweet spirit in our midst! Thank you for the faithful part that each of you are serving in this tremendous season of growth.
As we head into a very important fall in our church’s history, I want to let you know about a needed and promising project that we are launching. The campus renovation project is called the “Amen Project.” The name comes from the word “amen” which, as one writer put it, “It is a kind of super-yes. It signals—if it is truly sincere—a large enthusiasm, a deep commitment, and a resolve to follow through in practice.”
As we continue to renovate our church building to use it at full capacity, the next step is strengthening WHERE we do the preaching and counseling ministries of NLBC. (These are well-worn areas that we have barely touched since we purchased the building several years ago in the midst of renovating our central lobby/classroom wing and paying down debt.) The spirit of this initiative is not to simply to have a more comfortable or upgraded building, but as a means to visibly demonstrate the high priority we give to the Word of God before a carefully watching world as well as the next generation!
Here are some details to help you prayerfully prepare to go “all in” on this impactful project in the next few months:
Our Goals:
- What’s the Financial Goal? $200,000
- How Do We Get There?
- Currently our balance is a little over 10% ($20,000+).
- Phase One: Reach a balance of $100,000 on Anniversary Sunday.
- Phase Two: Give weekly/monthly after that through the end of the year.
- Begin working on the project in phases as the funds come in.
Our Schedule:
August 28 “Building an Amen” Sermon and Project Introduction from Pastor
September 25 Anniversary Offering
December 31 Completion of Fundraising Project
Despite the financial challenges and pressures of our day, may the Lord truly grant us the same visionary spirit of those building in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah. “And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD” (Ne. 8:6a). Thank you, for your faithful partnership in not just talking about the ministry but praying for and funding it on a regular basis. I look forward sharing in greater detail what the Lord has laid upon our hearts in regard to this worthy cause on August 28 at 10:30 AM!
Pastor Snode
